Delegates of HKS Education Fund visited Tsinghua University High School
On 11 April 2024, Mr Herbert Lee, Mr Geoffrey Lee and Ms Queenie Cheung of HKS Education Fund paid a courtesy visit to Tsinghua University High School. They were received by Ms Fang Yan, Principal, and Mr Cao Haixiang, Secretary, who also gave a report on the current development of the school as well as the ongoing alliance with the secondary schools in Hong Kong. Mr Herbert Lee fully appreciated the motivation, dedication and commitment of the school administrators and teachers, while also commended on the good spirits and liveliness of the students. He also learned how the school had involved and contributed to the project of "Moral Education Through Tertiary, Middle, and Primary Schools" organised by the Centre for the Youth Moral Education, Tsinghua University, which was supported by HKS Education Fund. Mr Lee gave his best wishes to the school in continuing the success to groom outstanding students for the community and the country, not only on their talents and capabilities, but more importantly, their character, personality and integrity.
Ms Yuan Wei, Secretary-General of the Tsinghua University Education Foundation, Mr You Ruishan and Ms Hou Ying, directors of the Resource Development Department, Tsinghua University Education Foundation, together with Ms Jiao Yiju, director the Tsinghua High School Education Foundation, accompanied Mr Lee and the delegates of HKS Education Fund, for the visitation of Tsinghua University High School.
Ms Fang Yan, Principal, Mr Cao Haixiang, Secretary, Ms Zhang Jie, Committee Secretary, Ms Du Yuzhen, Chairman of Tsinghua High School Education Foundation and Mr Hou Jinke, Secretary-General warmly received and attended the symposium.
Mr Herbert Lee, Mr Geoffrey Lee, and Ms Queenie Cheung were presented with their portraits produced by six students at Tsinghua University High School.

Tsinghua University Education Foundation Charity Project Result Report Meeting
On 11 April 2024, Mr Herbert Lee, Mr Geoffrey Lee and Ms Queenie Cheung attended the "HKS Education Fund Charity Project Result Report" organised by the Tsinghua University Education Foundation. Mr Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University, presented the "HKS Education Fund Charity Project Results Compilation" brochure to Mr Herbert Lee on the spot.
Mr Herbert Lee expressed his appreciation to Tsinghua University for arranging this visit by HKS Education Fund delegation after the pandemic, which had hindered cross-border travelling for over three years and was also very pleased to be able to reunite with old friends and meet new acquaintances. Mr Lee highlighted that he and HKS Education Fund had, over the two decades, built a fond and trustworthy relationship with Tsinghua University and the teams when pursuing various charitable projects in supporting the needed segments. He was overwhelmingly impressed by the quality, commitment, efficiency and effectiveness of Tsinghua University as well as the Tsinghua University Education Foundation in execution which had well exceeded his expectations. Mr Herbert Lee ensured that HKS Education Fund would continue to support Tsinghua University in enhancing its capabilities and resources to help strengthen the educational development of the country and commitment to social responsibility.
Mr Yang Bin, Vice President, represented Tsinghua University in receiving Mr Herbert Lee and the delegation of HKS Education Fund. In his welcoming speech, he expressed appreciation on behalf of the Tsinghua University to Mr Lee and HKS Education Fund for the longstanding and immense support rendered, not only in funding and charitable and community projects, but also affections, suggestions and solutions to the well-being and health of the long-serving staff of the Tsinghua University. Over the last 22 years, HKS Education Fund had supported Tsinghua University in pursuing projects related to technology development, moral and quality education initiatives with many fruitful outcomes, including infrastructure development, remote rural education revitalisation etc., all accomplished for providing the capabilities and platforms to nurture talents and families with the right mindset, culture and values in their livelihood and serving the country.
Mr Yang Bin presented the "HKS Education Fund Charity Project Results Compilation" brochure to Mr Herbert Lee .


Westlake University, Hangzhou, Ranked Top in the Global CAMEO Competition
Westlake University achieved remarkable success in the 2022 global CAMEO protein structure prediction competition. Led by Professor Stan Z. Li, Chair Professor of Artificial Intelligence, School of Engineering Westlake University, the team leveraged artificial intelligence and computational protein modelling in developing the Manifold protein structure prediction system.
HKS Education Fund was pleased to note that Mr Huang Yufei, a second-year PhD student at Westlake University, School of Engineering, whom HKS Education Fund had provided with support in pursuing higher education, was one of the team members. His contribution to this success was commendable and had accomplished the objective of HKS Education Fund in raising the standards of excellence in rural education.
