Training for Teachers and Principals














Tsinghua-Weixin Teachers Award
HKS Education Fund supported the Tsinghua-Weixin Teachers Award Project to promote quality school education and had recognised 350 contributing teachers from 15 cities in Mainland China. They were being invited to attend the Teacher Award Conference in Beijing which were held in 2009 and 2010 consequently, in receiving the awards while also participated in online training courses.
Rural Teachers Training Programme
Since 2007, HKS Education Fund has been a supporter of the "Rural Teacher Training Programme" which Tsinghua University leverages its internal capabilities to help build the resources of teachers in rural regions as well as improve their knowledge and quality of compulsory education in music, art, physical education, English, etc.

HKS Education Fund has been supporting the School of Continuing Education, Tsinghua University through Tsinghua-Weixin Education Fund since 2007 to help improve education in poverty-stricken areas, including the installation of more than 3,000 remote learning stations covering the primary and secondary schools in over 500 counties as well as the curriculum design of the relevant real-time learning courses to be transmitted via satellites.
Online Learning Courses
In 2015, HKS Education Fund funded the upgrade of the classroom facilities at Tsinghua University Primary School with real-time broadcasting capability, enabling students of primary and secondary schools in remote areas to receive quality learning. Notwithstanding their locations, the Online Tutorial Class for College Entrance Examination has proven results in helping the secondary school students in rural areas to achieve remarkable examination results.
Earthquake Relief for School Reconstruction
HKS Education Fund allocated funds to rebuild Xujia Town Primary School in Youxian District, Mianyang City, Sichuan, which was destroyed during the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake.
New School in Ludian County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan
In 2006, HKS Education Fund supported Christian Action, an NGO, to build the Longjing Primary School in Longtoushan Town, Ludian County, Zhaotong City in Yunnan Province. The new premises with updated equipment have greatly improved the teaching capabilities and benefitted the local students.
New Schools in Hualai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province
In 2007 and 2008, HKS Education Fund supported the construction of Yaozitou Primary School and Anyingbao Primary School in Cunrui Central School, Hualai County, Zhangjiakou City.
Migrant Children Education


















HKS Education Fund supported the initiatives of World Vision China and Tsinghua University in caring migrant children.
Education for Migrant Children in Beijing
The Beijing Education Project for Children of Migrant Workers ran from 2007 to 2011 had helped migrant children adapt to urban life and healthy growth. With the improvement in campus environment and equipment, migrant families and their children received training to strengthen their awareness and knowledge on safety and health matters, building self-confidence in participation of activities as well as the interpersonal relationship skills.
Education for Migrant Children in Guangdong
HKS Education Fund provided resources from 2014 to 2017 to build a communal support network for the migrant families and their children in Guangdong Province, with the aim to accelerate their integration into the community, improve the overall development and education of their children, strengthen the awareness of knowledge on safety and health in the urban community.
Excel in Technology
















Construction of Weiqing Building for Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University
HKS Education Fund supported the construction of the Weiqing Building in catering the expansion of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University. The building was completed and officiated in 2010.
The new Weiqing Building has not only provided additional library and laboratory space to the Department of Electronic Engineering for use in scientific research and teaching, but subsequently, the Department of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Big Data Research Centre have also taken up space in Weiqing Building for the required purposes.
Tsinghua-Weixin Entrepreneurship Seed Fund
In 2013, HKS Education Fund contributed to the "Tsinghua-Weixin Entrepreneurship Seed Fund" for supporting the scientific research and development of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, as well as their talents attraction via the "Chuan Xin" Young Scholars Award.
Tsinghua-Weixin Science Forum
Tsinghua University has launched the Tsinghua-Wexin Science Forum since 2020, providing online science education to promote literacy and interest of the primary and seconding school students in rural and remote areas nationwide, which has greatly benefitted the students, also the minority groups.
Up to the end of 2024, Tsinghua-Weixin Science Forum has benefitted 28 million primary and secondary school students in over 100 counties and districts across Mainland China, being highly recognised by the schools, parents and local authorities, with awards including first runner “Tsinghua University Outstanding Continuing Education” in 2020 and “Beijing Lifelong Learning Signature Project” in 2023.

Tsinghua University
Since 2007, HKS Education Fund has been providing subsidies to students with financial challenges at Tsinghua University for their living and educational expenses, and the project also encourages the benefitted students to continue this good deed of giving back to the society after their graduation and when financial conditions would permit.
Westlake University
Since 2019, HKS Education Fund has supported financially disadvantaged students and ethnic minorities having good academic performance to complete their studies at Westlake University. The Project also encourages the students to excel in academics, build their self-confidence in life, and foster their commitment to social responsibility.
